The latest MCU Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, is ending today.
Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiered on the Disney+ streaming service in March 2024. Since then, new episodes of the show have continued to be released weekly, with this season having eight episodes in total. The final episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is now being released this evening.
Daredevil: Born Again serves as a continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil show, which ran for three seasons. Coming from showrunner Dario Scardapane, it sees Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their respective roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
What kind of ratings has the Daredevil: Born Again Disney+ show been getting?
As noted last week by data obtained by Luminate, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has not been getting great viewership ratings. The MCU show has declined approximately 46 percent between the first five episodes of each season. Total watchtime broken down by hours has also dropped by 54 percent.
Season 2 accumulated 4.5 million views, 10.8 million hours watched, and 652 million minutes watched compared to Season 1, which generated 8.35 million views, 24 million hours watched, and 1.44 billion minutes watched. When Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ in March 2024, it attracted 1.9 million viewers. Five weeks into Born Again Season 1, viewership was at 1.069 million, whereas for Season 2, it has plummeted to 616,000.
While that might put the future of Daredevil: Born Again in jeopardy, there is some good news: The show has already been renewed for Season 3. Barring any major last-minute decisions on Marvel’s part, this means that Daredevil fans can still rest easy knowing that Matt Murdock’s story will continue, as the third Born Again chapter is already in production.
All eight episodes of Marvel Studios‘ Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will be available to stream on Disney+ later this evening.
