Tomb Raider Live-Action TV Show Gets Big Casting Update as Filming Begins Soon

The new live-action Tomb Raider TV show has added a new member to the cast.

Prime Video is working on a new live-action Tomb Raider series that will see Sophie Turner play Lara Croft. Created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the show is expected to begin filming on January 19, 2026.

Who has joined the cast of the Tomb Raider live-action TV show?

Per Variety, the cast of the live-action Tomb Raider TV show now also includes Martin Bobb-Semple. Character details are being kept under wraps at this time; however, the outlet reports that Bobb-Semple will be a series regular in the Tomb Raider show.

Bobb-Semple is best known for playing Orlando Johnson in The CW’s All American: Homecoming. He has also had roles in TV shows such as Dixi, Free Rein, Pandora, and One of Us Is Lying.

The live-action Tomb Raider TV show has been in development at Prime Video since 2023, though it was officially given the green light in May 2024. WallerBridge serves as co-showrunner on the series alongside Chad Hodge, while both of them are also executive producers. 

Other executive producers include Jenny Robins, Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson, Michael Scheel, Jonathan van Tulleken, and Legendary Television. Story Kitchen, Crystal Dynamics, and Amazon MGM Studios produce the show.

“I’m so excited to announce the formidable Sophie Turner as our Lara alongside this phenomenal creative team,” Waller-Bridge previously said in a statement. “It’s not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. Plot details for the Tomb Raider show remain under wraps at this time. A release date has not yet been set.
