Stranger Things Season 5 Gives Eleven New Power Like MCU Character

In Stranger Things Season 5, Eleven will debut a new power similar to that of a popular MCU character.

What is Eleven’s new power?

In the new trailer for Stranger Things Season 5, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, is seen using her telepathic and psychokinetic abilities to defend Hawkins from Vecna and the creatures of the Upside Down. The footage teases Eleven’s new power, described as a telekinetic leap.

While speaking with EW, the Duffer Brothers broke down Eleven’s new leaping capabilities, which have been compared to one of the MCU’s most powerful characters — Wanda Maximoff.

“It’s like she’s pushing down at the ground and having that energy propel her up, in a way,” Ross Duffer explained. “So she’s not really flying, but she is boosting herself and getting some serious air.”

Eleven will need to utilize every one of her powers to defeat Vecna, who looks bigger and stronger in the new season. The Duffers said they wanted to make Vecna “scarier,” so they upgraded the villain’s physical appearance for these final episodes.

“So the idea being more that he [Vecna] has rebuilt his body, which is why there are still literal holes and you can see through pieces of his body,” Ross said. “He’s lost what remained of his human body and has become more a part of the Upside Down. If there is any humanity left within him, it’s diminished.”

The Duffers compared Vecna’s arrival in Season 5 to Darth Vader’s entrance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. “You certainly see Vecna’s full powers on display in this,” Ross added.

Stranger Things Season 5 will be split into three parts on Netflix: Volume 1 (four episodes) on November 26, Volume 2 (three episodes) on December 25, and the finale on December 31. The finale can also be seen in select theaters.
