Actor Krysten Ritter is ready and willing to reprise her role as Jessica Jones for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
What did Krysten Ritter say about Jessica Jones appearing in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
During a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, Ritter discussed her odds of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the former superhero-turned-private investigator. The actor last appeared as the character in the third and final season of Netflix’s Jessica Jones, which was released on the streamer in 2019.
“Listen, I love Jessica Jones. I think it’s so exciting that there seems to be such an appetite to see her again. I get asked about it almost everyday. We remain cautiously optimistic,” Ritter said. “If they asked me, I would be there ready. I may or may not have the jacket that I stole from set.”
Ritter’s comments come less than a month after noted industry insider My Time to Shine Hello reported that the actor would appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which is currently in production. The insider had previously shared that “at least one Defender will be back” for the new season of the Disney+ continuation.
With Marvel Studios finally acknowledging that the Netflix/Marvel series (collectively known as The Defenders Saga) took place on the MCU’s sacred timeline, the door is now open for any of those characters to reappear in a future project. At the time of writing, eight actors from The Defenders Saga have returned to the MCU since 2019, beginning with Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin) in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye (both 2021), respectively.
The remaining six reprisals were in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 and include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Susan Varon as Josie.
Jessica Jones and Daredevil: Born Again are now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
