Agatha All Along Showrunner & Joe Locke Address if Locke Is Playing Wiccan in MCU Series

Joe Locke and Jac Schaeffer are aware that the internet believes the Heartstopper star may be playing Wiccan in Agatha All Along.

Agatha All Along is a new MCU series premiering on Disney+ later this month. Serving as a spin-off to 2021’s WandaVision, the show will see Kathryn Hahn reprise her role as Agatha Harkness.

Locke, meanwhile, is playing a mysterious character who is commonly referred to as “Teen,” and a recently released trailer for Agatha All Along purposefully hides his true identity. This has led many online fans to theorize that Lockie is playing Wiccan, also known as Billy Kaplan.

In Marvel Comics, Wiccan is the reincarnation of one of Wanda Maximoff’s twin sons. Wanda’s twins, played by Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne, both appeared in WandaVision.

What did Joe Locke say about his Agatha All Along character?

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Locke, who has previously confirmed that he’s playing an openly gay character, said he’s seen the theories suggesting he might be playing Wiccan.

Locke said, “The fan theories are fun, but they’re fans’ theories and I shouldn’t be the one to comment on them until it’s the right time.”

Schaeffer, who serves as the showrunner for both WandaVision and Agatha All Along, commented on the theories, “I still get a little nervous, but I have the experience of WandaVision, this voice in my head that’s like, no one knows the how. So if they’re right or they’re wrong, if they’re disappointed, that I can’t control. I have faith that the writers and I took great pains to make the journey of it the fun part.”

Schaeffer also said, “I don’t have a lot of input on the trailers, which is where everything starts to be beyond my reach. I think that everything has meaning, and when all these little pieces come out and everybody is theorizing, I like to think it creates a froth that enhances everyone’s experience of what they’re about to see.”

The first two episodes of Agatha All Along will premiere on Disney+ on September 18, 2024.
