Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Receives Release Window Update

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew star Dane DiLiegro has revealed when he believes the hotly-anticipated series will be released on Disney+.

Speaking with The Direct, the actor shared that he was hoping Skeleton Crew would be on Disney+ “by the fall.” He continued, “If I were to guess… That’s completely surmising. There’s no information behind that. I know that Lucasfilm likes to release things around November-ish. So I’m hoping by then.”

The actor said that he had “been meaning to reach out to our director, David Lowery,” for clarification on when Skeleton Crew will be released, repeating that he doesn’t know when Lucasfilm will drop the series but that November seemed like a good guess.

“I know Lucasfilm is due for something pretty cool. And I think Skeleton Crew might be that thing,” he added.

Jude Law headlines Skeleton Crew

Created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, Skeleton Crew, which was announced at Star Wars Celebration 2022, is an upcoming coming-of-age story about four children lost in the galaxy who must go on an adventure to return home. Lucasfilm has reportedly described Skeleton Crew as a “galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.”

Jude Law will serve as the adult lead in Skeleton Crew, although all that has been revealed about his character so far is that he is a Force-user. Besides Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Firestarter), Kerry Condon (Better Call Saul), and Jaleel White (Family Matters), the rest of the cast consists of up-and-comers like Robert Timothy Smith, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Tunde Adebimpe.

The next Star Wars series is The Acolyte

Before Skeleton Crew is released, Lucasfilm is expected to premiere The Acolyte, its upcoming Star Wars series set at the end of the High Republic era, on Disney+. While an official premiere date has not yet been revealed, a recent report stated that the prequel series would arrive on the streaming service this summer.

Star Wars: The Acolyte is filled with recognizable talents like Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Margarita Levieva. Joonas Suotamo, who previously portrayed Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and Solo, also stars as a Wookiee Jedi Master named Kelnacca.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew does not yet have an official premiere date.
