Peacemaker Season 2 update intro

James Gunn Gives Peacemaker Season 2 Update, Confirms New Intro Sequence Is Coming

James Gunn has confirmed that Danielle Brooks’ Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee’s John Economos will all return for Peacemaker Season 2.

On Threads, Gunn was asked if fans can expect appearances from Adebayo, Harcourt, and Economos in the upcoming second season of Max’s Peacemaker. “All three are back [in] Season 2,” he wrote.

When asked if Eagly will also return, Gunn said, “Ofc.”

Gunn also confirmed that the new season of Peacemaker will feature a different intro sequence than Peacemaker Season 1. “A lot of dancing people died first season. A new intro with new characters will be coming,” he said.

Peacemaker premiered on Max in January 2022. Along with the aforementioned actors, the first season starred John Cena as Christopher Smith, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Cukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, and Robert Patrick as August Smith/White Dragon.

Gunn previously confirmed that Stroma will reprise his role as Vigilante in the forthcoming DCU, which launches later this year with an animated Creature Commandos series.

James Gunn has finished writing Peacemaker Season 2

On February 7, 2024, Gunn also said that he had finished writing Peacemaker Season 2, though a premiere date has not yet been set. The new season will address the DCU reboot, as the first season of Peacemaker was set during the now-finished DCEU.

Following Creature Commandos, Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU continues in 2025 with Superman: Legacy, which is written and directed by Gunn. Releasing on July 11, 2025, the movie stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.

Peacemaker Season 1 is currently streaming on Max.
