Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Trailer Promises a Kaiju-Sized Mystery

Apple TV+ has revealed the official trailer for its upcoming MonsterVerse series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

Revealed at New York Comic Con 2023, the new Legacy of Monsters trailer dives deep into the mystery of the organization known as Monarch in a world still coming to grips with the fact that monsters do indeed exist. Numerous terrifying kaijus appear — including the granddaddy of them all, Godzilla.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters arrives in November

Legacy of Monsters premieres on Apple TV+ this November. The 10-episode series hails from the duo of Chris Black and Matt Fraction. Matt Shakman directs the first two episodes. The show stars Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna SawaiKiersey ClemonsRen WatabeMari YamamotoAnders Holm, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, and John Goodman. It is set within Legendary‘s MonsterVerse, which already includes the films Godzilla (2014), Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla vs. Kong.

“Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch,” an official synopsis reads.

“Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows,” it continues. “…[T]his dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”

The first two episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters arrive Friday, November 17 on Apple TV+. Subsequent episodes will release weekly through January 12, 2024.
