Star Trek: Picard Cast Praises Director Lea Thompson In New Video

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for the third and fourth episodes of Star Trek: Picard season 2! Lea Thompson

There’s a lot of time travel and history changing this season on Star Trek: Picard. So it’s a good thing the show’s creative team has called in someone with experience dealing with time travel stories. Back to the Future actress Lea Thompson helmed the third and fourth episodes of Picard this season, and it’s far from her first time in the director’s chair. Thompson’s recent directing credits include Resident Alien, Stargirl, Katy Keene, and Young Sheldon. But she’s been helming episodes and TV movies since 2006.

In a new video from Paramount+, cast members Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, and Evan Evagora share their thoughts about Thompson’s contributions to the series. And they all sound very happy about the experience.

However, there’s a twinge of sadness about Evagora’s account. His character, Elnor, was killed off despite the best efforts of Raffi (Hurd). Regardless, Evagora seems to be happy that Thompson made his final scene a fitting sendoff for Elnor.

Star Trek: Picard season 2 will continue on Thursday, March 31.
