Apple Drops First Official Teaser for Invasion, Announces Release Date

It didn’t take too long for Apple to release the official teaser for Invasion. The upcoming sci-fi series created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil will debut in October, bringing on-screen a new take on the classic alien invasion leitmotif. This time, it will be up to Sam Neill’s Sheriff John Bell Tyson to protect the Earth from the new menace. The Jurassic Park vet will portray a character that has been described as “a weathered rural lawman on the verge of retirement.”

Besides Neill, the cast will also see Shamier Anderson as Trevante Ward, “an extraordinary soldier stationed in Afghanistan.”Additionally, Golshifteh Farahani is Aneesha Malik, “first generation Syrian immigrant, wife and mother living in Long Island.” Firas Nassar will portray Aneesha’s husband, the successful businessman Ahmed Malik. Last but not least, Shiori Kutsuna acts as Mitsuki, “an intelligent member of mission control in Japan’s space program JASA.”

The first teaser serves as an introduction to all the cast. Right before the end of the video, there is also a quick glimpse at the alien spaceships. You can watch the official Invasion teaser in the player below.

The official description for Invasion reads:

“Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Sam Neill, Firas Nassar, and Shioli Kutsuna star in this sci-fi drama that will make you question what you would do under extraterrestrial threat. Following multiple storylines across different continents, Invasion takes a global look at how one alien invasion would affect us all.”

Invasion will debut on Apple TV+ on October 22.
