While the overall situation is improving across the world, COVID-19 is still a problem for the entertainment industry. The latest show affected by the virus is Star Trek: Discovery. It’s currently shooting its fourth season at Pinewood Studios in Toronto, Canada. Apparently, a staff member came in contact with someone external to the series who contracted the virus. Consequently, CBS halted the production and put the staff member in quarantine for 14 days. The news was first reported by THR. At the time of writing, CBS hadn’t released any official statement on the matter.

In season 3, the USS Discovery crew time-traveled 1,000 years into the future. The crew had to investigate the origins of the mysterious cataclysm known as the Burn, which had a profound impact on the 32nd century. The season ended with Michael becoming the captain of the spaceship, leading them into new adventures.
Earlier this month, the producers debuted the first look at the next installment in the series. In the story, Captain Michael Burnham and the USS Discovery crew will deal with a gravitational anomaly that is five light-years across. CBS has yet to announce an official date release for Star Trek: Discovery season 4. However, the newest adventures should debut before the end of the year, provided that the virus doesn’t delay the official release.
