HBO’s Watchmen Lands a Peabody Award Nomination

For nearly eight decades, the Peabody Awards has honored the most empowering stories told across all forms of media. This year, HBO’s Watchmen has a chance at joining the ranks of its winners. The Peabodys’ board of jurors announced the 2020 list of nominees earlier today; and Damon Lindelof’s remix of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ classic comic is competing in the Entertainment category.

The other nominees in the Entertainment category also include HBO’s Chernobyl; Netflix’s Unbelievable and When They See Us; Hulu’s Ramy; Amazon’s Fleabag and Good Omens; and Apple TV+’s Dickinson. Stranger Things also received its second Peabody nomination after previously earning a nod for its first season in 2016.

Lindelof also shared his response to Watchmen’s nomination on Instagram. You can read what he had to say for yourself below.
