Ashley Eckstein Addresses Ahsoka Tano Casting Rumors

Star Wars fans will have to say goodbye to Ashley Eckstein soon because as soon as her run on Star Wars: The Clone Wars ends she won’t reprise her Ahsoka Tano role anytime soon. While fans may have wanted her to portray Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan in live-action in The Mandalorian season 2, Rosario Dawson ultimately got the job. Eckstein wrote a long letter on her social media channels to explain the situation.

“The truth is, I am not involved in The Mandalorian,” Eckstein wrote. “I can’t answer questions for something I have not been a part of. I am an actress and I have performed in all types of mediums; live action film/television, theater, voice-over, hosting and it has been my dream for 14 years to continue to play Ahsoka Tano in all forms. I will continue to be grateful for opportunities to help create stories for Ahsoka Tano and I am always happy to see her legacy continue.”

The actress expressed also her gratitude to the fans for helping in saving the animated series, which will wrap things up in a few weeks.

“YOU helped #SaveTheCloneWars and it’s time to celebrate our beloved series,” she added. “I am beyond excited and proud of what’s ahead and I promise it’s SOOOOO good. Dave Filoni and the entire cast and crew truly knocked this one, not just out of the park, but out of the Universe! These episodes deliver so much hope just when we need it the most!”

Eckstein voiced Ahsoka for all seven seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars starting in 2008. She will end her Star Wars run also counting a vocal cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as the Jedi Padawan.
