Castlevania Producer Takes on Far Cry: Blood Dragon Animated Series

Producer Adi Shankar has already guided two seasons  of the animated Castlevania series on Netflix, with a third to come. And he looks to do the same for Capcom’s Devil May Cry. Now, Shankar is teaming up with Ubisoft to bring back another beloved video game franchise to animation.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, Shankar and Ubisoft are collaborating on Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Vibe. This animated series will be based on the 2013 game Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

“Adi is such a great fan of video games,” said Ubisoft’s Helene Juguet. “We share the same culture and references. It’s been great to give him the freedom to do something very fresh and bold with our characters.”

Captain Laserhawk ties in with Ubisoft’s latest initiative to turn several of its hit games into animated shows. This additionally includes Rabbids Invasion, Hungry Shark, and a toned-down version of its open-world Watch Dogs, with a teen “cybermystery” setting.
