Another trailer for the hotly anticipated Street Fighter film has been released. While previous trailers focused on introducing the vast cast of characters that it had, the newest look at the movie focuses on the friendship and rivalry that Ryu and Ken share.
Iconic members of the Street Fighter roster, Ken, Chun Li, and Ryu will likely serve as the emotional core of the film. Noah Centineo will be playing Ken Masters in the latest live-action iteration of the film, while the character of Ryu will be played by Andrew Koji. Callina Liang will star as Chun Li.

What is the Street Fighter movie about?
The 2026 iteration of Street Fighter will be the third live-action adaptation of the Street Fighter IP. A distinct continuity from the first two films, Street Fighter sports a massive ensemble cast. It brings a slew of iconic characters from the games to the silver screen.
Apart from the aforementioned leads, the cast also involves Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Eric André, Andrew Schulz, Vidyut Jammwal, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Jason Momoa. The film is set to follow Chun Li as she recruits Ken and Ryu to fight against M. Bison (played by Dastmalchian) during the brutal World Warrior Tournament.
The film is directed by Japanese-born American director Kitao Sakurai, with the script being penned by Sakurai and T. J. Fixman. The initial directors for the film were announced to be Danny and Michael Philippou, but the duo would drop out of the project to focus on their 2025 folk horror offering, Bring Her Back.
Speaking with Empire Magazine about the thought process that went into making the film, Sakurai said, “Everybody wanted to get behind creating a movie that had a very distinct tone and approach, that didn’t feel like an off-the-shelf video-game movie. I was brought on to make something that didn’t feel conventional, and they really let me do my thing.”
Street Fighter is slated to release by Paramount Pictures on October 16, 2026, in IMAX.
