Negan returns to The Walking Dead in the new trailer for The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival. The iconic Savior will be playable when the game launches this September.
TRAILMARK Games and AMC Global Media revealed Negan during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2026 Showcase. He joins Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne on the playable roster. The game is inspired by AMC’s The Walking Dead and its All-Out War storyline.
The 48-second trailer video shows Negan fighting through walkers and rival enemies with Lucille. He uses the barbed-wire bat for heavy swings, combos, and finishing moves. The footage also features the game’s side-scrolling format and retro pixel-art visuals.
What Negan brings to Streets of Survival’s playable roster
Negan adds a close-range fighting style built around Lucille’s heavy attacks. The game’s official description confirms that each playable character has a unique fighting style, stats, and signature abilities. This gives Negan a distinct place alongside Rick’s magnum, Michonne’s katana, and Daryl’s crossbow.
Negan is also an unlockable character rather than part of the starting roster. Players can use him in the game’s single-player campaign and replayable arcade challenges. His addition lets players experience the Savior leader from a different perspective while fighting through the game’s battles.
The campaign follows a reimagined version of the All-Out War conflict. Players face walker swarms, Savior enemies, and multi-phase boss encounters throughout the story. Negan and Simon also appear as opponents in these battles, which adds an extra challenge to the game’s combat setup.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival launches September 18, 2026. It will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. A free demo is currently available on Steam.
