MCU’s highly anticipated X-Men reboot has added an acclaimed industry presence to its crew. Filming for the movie will reportedly commence next year with the newly announced cast and production team.
Pat Scola, ASC, has been announced as the cinematographer for MCU’s upcoming X-Men reboot. The award-winning cinematographer confirmed his involvement in the project on his official website. The news comes just weeks after Marvel unveiled the main cast for the movie.
Why Pat Scola is a notable addition to the X-Men reboot
Pat Scola is a well-known cinematographer who has worked on several notable projects. His credits include popular movies and music videos from artists such as The Weeknd, Alt-J, and J. Cole.
Some of the most acclaimed films that Scola has worked as a cinematographer on include A Quiet Place: Day One, The Death of Robin Hood, Sing Sing, Monsters and Men, and Lurker, among others.
Scola received the American Society of Cinematographers Spotlight Award for his work on Michael Sarnoski’s 2021 drama film Pig. For his work on We Grown Now (2023), he earned a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography.
Additionally, Scola received a nomination for the San Diego Film Critics Society Award for Best Cinematography for Sing Sing (2023). The critically acclaimed cinematographer will now bring his expertise to the MCU on the upcoming X-Men movie.
The untitled X-Men reboot film will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2028. Sadie Sink, who has already made her debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will reprise the role in the upcoming MCU installment. Most recently, the actress joined director Jake Schreier on stage at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event to unveil the rest of the cast.
The official cast of the X-Men reboot includes Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Christopher Abbott as Prof. X. Finally, Adam Driver will play the villainous Mr. Sinister.
