New set videos from The Batman: Part II reveal an explosive confrontation between the Batmobile and Gotham’s own police force. The leaked footage has fans calling it “absolute cinema” as the Dark Knight’s ride faces its most intense real-world action yet.
Batmobile faces a barrage of bullets on The Batman II set
New set videos from The Batman: Part II show GCPD and SWAT officers opening fire on the Batmobile. The footage, shared widely on social media by accounts like Culture Crave, captures the vehicle performing donuts on Glasgow’s snow-covered streets. Gotham City police vehicles chase the Batmobile before surrounding it completely.
SWAT officers then fire at the car at point-blank range during the intense sequence. A SWAT vehicle also rams the Batmobile at one point during filming. The snowy Glasgow streets double as Gotham City for director Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated sequel.
The first film portrayed a tense but ultimately productive alliance between Batman and the GCPD. Batman’s relationship with Lt. Jim Gordon proved especially central to that partnership. The sequel footage now suggests that alliance has completely fallen apart.
Gotham’s police force now treats Batman as an outlaw in the new film. Whether this conflict also puts Batman at odds with Gordon personally remains unclear. Jeffrey Wright returns as Jim Gordon alongside Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne.
Reeves previously confirmed Scarlett Johansson’s casting through a social media post featuring a GIF from Under the Skin. Rumors have long suggested she plays Gilda Dent, wife of Harvey Dent. Sebastian Stan also joins the cast, with Reeves’ welcome post reading “In a Gotham state of mind…” strongly hinting at the role of Harvey Dent.
Colin Farrell returns as Oz Cobb for what reports describe as only a couple of scenes. The film’s wintry setting has led some fans to speculate about Mister Freeze’s involvement. The Batman: Part II opens in theaters on February 18, 2028.
