A new report has surfaced, revealing the exact filming date for The Batman 2, whose theatrical release is set for next year. While plot details are being kept under wraps, comments from co-writer Mattson Tomlin and actor Colin Farrell promise a gripping narrative. The cast has also drawn significant attention, thanks to reports suggesting Marvel stars Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan’s involvement in the film.
The Batman 2’s exact filming date in May revealed
The Batman 2 will reportedly begin filming on May 29, 2026, in London, as per a new report.
This report comes from Page Six, which cited sources and said that the sequel was “fully cast and ready to go.” It aligns with what Variety reported last month, stating that the film would begin production by the end of May.
Moreover, the director, Matt Reeves, earlier told the outlet that filming would begin in late April or early May 2026.
Meanwhile, The Batman 2’s story is unknown as of writing. However, Mattson Tomlin told fans that he and Reeves had worked very hard to “tell a story worthy of the character.” He highlighted the narrative’s difference from the previous film by stressing it is “something that feels new and dangerous.”‘
Additionally, Colin Farrell, who will reprise his role of Oz Cobb, AKA Penguin, in the film, praised the film’s script, labeling it “tasty stuff.”
Although the sequel’s plot hasn’t been revealed, some rumored yet unverified details about it have surfaced online. A user claimed on Reddit that The Batman 2 would be “way more intimate than people expect.” They said that it would revolve around Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent, and Arkham.
The user also suggested that Dick Grayson and Vicki Vale, two prominent characters from Batman lore, would be introduced in the film. Further, they claimed that Oz Cobb, whom Dent was prosecuting in a high-profile trial connected to the drug epidemic, would throw acid on his face.
The Batman Part II premieres in theaters on October 1, 2027. Robert Pattinson will reprise his role of Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Farrell’s Penguin. Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis are also expected to return as Jim Gordon and Alfred Pennyworth from the first film, respectively.
