Daredevil Star Possibly Spoils Marvel Hero’s Return in Born Again Season 2

A recent social media post from Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 actor Royce Johnson has potentially spoiled the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. The Marvel Studios production is expected to release on Disney+ in March 2026. The talented cast of the show includes Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Matthew Lillard, Krysten Ritter, and many more.

Royce Johnson’s post has fans convinced Punisher will return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Royce Johnson, who is appearing in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, has possibly spoiled the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

Johnson is all set to reprise his role of Detective Sergeant Brett Mahoney in Season 2, which he played in the Netflix version of Daredevil. In his recent post on Instagram, Johnson shared a clip featuring some behind-the-scenes snaps from the set. In one image, Johnson is seen posing alongside Charlie Cox. However, his snap with Deborah Ann Woll, aka Karen Page, and Jon Bernthal, aka Punisher, led to numerous speculations.

Previously, it was confirmed by Daredevil: Born Again executive producer Sana Amanat in an interview with Empire Magazine that Bernthal was not returning. This was because of the Punisher special presentation, which he was working on with Marvel.

Despite the rumors of his return going around, there is a chance that the image posted by Johnson is from the set of the Punisher special. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly in April 2025, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane teased the special and said, “I don’t know. I mean, I think that a lot of what would be fair to assume for an audience member is that post-credit sequence lays right into what the Punisher special is going to be.” As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the special will air following the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
