The release date window for Season 3 of the hit anime Dan Da Dan on Netflix was recently announced. Based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, the series debuted in October 2024. Season 2 of Dan Da Dan came out in July 2025 and was critically acclaimed.
Dan Da Dan Season 3 won’t get a 2026 release date
The third season of Dan Da Dan finally has a release date window, but it’s not coming out in 2026.
The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the anime shared a post, in which they also unveiled the poster for Season 3. It stated, “Dan Da Dan Season 3. Broadcast Set for 2027. Teaser Visual Revealed. Momo, Okarun, Turbo Granny and… A beautiful girl “wearing” a space monster.”
The information regarding the release of Dan Da Dan Season 3 was also shared at Jump Festa 2026. While Season 1 premiered in 2024, there was only a one-year waiting period between it and Season 2. However, fans will have to wait two years till 2027 for Season 3.
According to a report by AnimeMojo, the waiting time for anime fans has increased because Season 3 is an entirely new production. Meanwhile, Season 1 and 2 were made as one and then split into two at the time of release.
Moreover, Dan Da Dan Season 3 is set to follow the Space Globalists Arc, which is the longest story arc in the manga. The number of chapters in this arc stands at around 50. On the other hand, Seasons 1 and 2 covered approximately 35 chapters.
Furthermore, the animation studio, Science SARU, with whom Dan Da Dan is collaborating, is busy with its 2026 slate. The studio is also working on projects like the Ghost in the Shell series and the Sanda anime adaptation.
