A new report suggests that the next saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could see the return of a surprising group from Marvel’s TV past.
What surprising return could we see in the MCU?
In a new Q&A session on The Cosmic Circus, insider Alex Perez was asked if there was any chance that the Inhumans could make a return to the MCU. To the surprise of many, Perez said that “there is a chance” the group could be making a return.
“Interestingly enough, there is a chance, yes. A lot of cosmic stuff will be pushed at the forefront for this next saga, including Eternals, Celestials, the Shi’ar, etc,” said Perez.
The Inhumans are a group of superhumans that first appeared in the 1960s in Marvel Comics. The group often consists of characters like Black Bolt, Medusa, Inferno, Ms. Marvel, and more. In 2017, a TV show based on the group premiered for ABC that was set in the MCU.
Although the series aired, the group rarely appeared anywhere else in the MCU, with Black Bolt briefly making a cameo in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as part of an alternate universe group of the Illuminati.
Currently, the future of the MCU remains up in the air. With both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars coming, rumors suggest that the MCU as a whole is going to begin focusing on separating the MCU and begin presenting movies that aren’t as interconnected as before.
Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to be released on December 17, 2027. Ahead of that, though, Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026.
