Arabella Stanton, the 11-year-old actor set to portray Hermione Granger in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, has officially confirmed that filming for the series is underway. Stanton’s casting has drawn considerable attention, as she will also lend her voice to the same character in Audible’s Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions.

During the Associated Press interview, Stanton appeared alongside co-stars Frankie Treadaway and Max Lester. She revealed that she has “just started filming” the series, expressing her excitement. However, the young actress remained careful not to reveal any details about the project.

Stanton recalled reading the books for the first time at the age of eight, adding, “Sort of just worked my way through them, and yeah, it was great. I’ve loved Harry Potter.” She also expressed excitement about hearing all the spells Hermione casts throughout the story. The actress added, “I love books. I love writing, I love reading, I love doing all that kind of stuff. I mean, I like school, but I don’t love school. And I think books [are] the main connection between Hermione and I.”

When asked about the magical props she most admires, Stanton named Time Turner and Invisibility Cloak. She added, “They’re things you wouldn’t be able to use in real life, but in the magic world, it transports you into a completely different world.”

When discussing her role as Hermione, Stanton expressed that it was a dream come true. She noted that she has admired those who played the character before her, naming Emma Watson.
