Avengers: Doomsday Will Revisit Iconic Captain America Location — Report

An underutilized location in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will reportedly become more important beginning with Avengers: Doomsday.

Which important location from the Captain America movies will Avengers: Doomsday revisit?

According to trusted scooper Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, Avengers: Doomsday will be “visiting the Raft,” the underwater prison that currently houses the likes of Trish Walker, Helmut Zemo, and Thaddeus Ross. The location first appeared within the MCU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before returning in 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World. It also played a role in Jessica Jones despite not physically appearing in the Netflix series.

Perez also confirmed that Marvel Studios would not be using the Raft as the MCU’s version of the Life Raft from Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars run, with Doomsday planned to feature “an equivalent,” although fans should not expect “a 1:1 of the comic.” In the comics, the Life Raft was created by the Future Foundation to survive the final incursion once it became clear that the Multiverse was going to end.

It’s unknown at this time how the Life Raft will be used in Doomsday. However, with Secret Wars already confirmed, there is a good chance that Doomsday will end with the Avengers boarding the Life Raft to survive the final incursion, leading to Secret Wars introducing the MCU’s take on Battleworld.

Doomsday wrapped production last Friday, although a “healthy” amount of additional photography is expected to take place ahead of the movie’s December 2026 release. The Russo Brothers returned to direct Doomsday, having helmed the previous two Avengers movies — Infinity War (2018) and Endgame (2019) — as well as the final two Chris Evans-led Captain America movies — The Winter Soldier (2014) and Civil War (2016).

Doomsday will feature a large ensemble cast that includes returning fan-favorites like Chris Hemsworth and Paul Rudd, as well as newer additions like Lewis Pullman, Vanessa Kirby, and Pedro Pascal. The Avengers sequel will also bring back multiple actors from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise, including Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as frenemies Professor X and Magneto, respectively.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
