After a prolonged wait of more than four years, Black Clover is finally returning for Season 2, with Crunchyroll recently revealing the release date window and the first trailer for the installment. The beloved anime, which draws inspiration from Yūki Tabata’s manga series of the same name, originally made its small-screen debut back in 2017. After the show concluded its initial run in 2021, fans have been gunning for updates on a follow-up, but to little success, that is, until now.
Black Clover Season 2 trailer released with 2026 release date window
At the recently concluded Anime Expo 2025, Crunchyroll confirmed that Black Clover Season 2 is currently under production, unveiling the edition’s first trailer along with its release date window.
According to the updates shared by the renowned streaming service, fans can expect the much-awaited sequel to Black Clover sometime in 2026.
On July 6, Crunchyroll’s industry panel at the Anime Expo 2025 announced that Black Clover Season 2 is in the works, while also sharing a brand new visual art of the show’s protagonist, Asta, with the title, “A new saga begins.” A Japanese version of the poster hit the internet shortly afterward, along with a trailer that recapped the anime’s journey from 2017.
The trailer, as shared on YouTube, noted in its description that Black Clover Season 2 will have a 2026 release date on Crunchyroll. However, the streaming giants have since cut that part out, suggesting that the premiere schedule of the sequel could encounter some modifications in the future.
Regardless, statements made at the said event by Yūki Tabata, the author and illustrator of the Black Clover manga, suggest that work on the anime’s sequel edition is progressing well.
“The production of the long-awaited new anime season of Black Clover has been confirmed! I’m beyond ecstatic going into the new anime season after the super-passionate movie that came out! Thanks to all of you, Black Clover is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! I definitely plan to keep this hype going,” Tabata remarked. (via Anime Corner)
