Thor 5 Rumor: Marvel Wants Ragnarok’s Dead Villain To Return

A recent rumor suggests that Hela, the villain of Thor: Ragnarok, might return in Thor 5, which is reportedly in the works. The elder sister of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, she was the first female antagonist to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cate Blanchett, who portrayed Hela in the 2017 movie, also reprised the character in Marvel Studios’ animated series, What If…? Season 2, which arrived on Disney+ in December 2023.

Thor 5 could see Ragnarok villain Hela return

During a recent Q&A session hosted by Alex Perez, the scooper stated that there are discussions to bring back Hela in the MCU.

A fan asked Perez on The Cosmic Circus, “I’m so glad you’re doing the Q&A again, and I hope it finds you well! For the first question — Is there any chance Hela will return in Doomsday or maybe Secret Wars?” To this, he replied, “Hi! I don’t know how to answer that. I know there’s interest in bringing the character back, but I don’t think it’s for the Avengers movies. Maybe in Thor 5?”

However, the rumor has not been confirmed by any Marvel Studios official. Additionally, there is no concrete evidence that Thor 5 is being made. Currently, it is rumored that the movie is being discussed at the studio, as per a previous report by SuperHeroHype.

Cate Blanchett’s Hela was presumed dead after being struck by Surtur’s Twilight sword in Thor: Ragnarok. However, fans never get a look at her body after the battle. Since then, fans have been debating Hela’s survival in the MCU.

Despite rumors of the character returning in Thor 5, whether Blanchett will play her again or not, is not confirmed.

While talking to Radio Times recently, the Don’t Look Up actress conveyed that she is considering retiring from acting. Moreover, she said that she was “serious” about leaving acting. Blanchett added, ”There are a lot of things I want to do with my life.”
