According to a new rumor, Avengers: Doomsday might feature Earth-616, the main universe in the MCU, and the X-Men‘s Earth, where Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau ended up in the mid-credits scene of 2023’s The Marvels. Doomsday is slated to be the fifth Avengers movie in the MCU.
Initially, Avengers 5 had the title Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and was slated to focus on Jonathan Majors’ Kang and his variants. Although that is no longer the case, the movie is still set to be one of the concluding chapters of MCU’s Multiverse Saga.
Earth-616 rumored to collide with Monica’s new X-Men Earth in Avengers: Doomsday
The Cosmic Circus‘ Alex Perez speculated during the site’s June 2025 Q&A session that the plot of Avengers: Doomsday could feature an “incursion” revolving around Earth-616 and the current Earth of Rambeau and the X-Men.
He was asked whether the impact of characters such as Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Stephen Strange, Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, and Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards traveling across universes would be a big part of Doomsday.
In response, Perez speculated that it would before claiming that since Loki, a consistent part of the MCU was that it had been trapped “in an endless cycle/loop.” According to Perez, the plans were different when Majors was still part of the MCU. However, after Disney let him go following his conviction (via Deadline), things have changed.
“Initially, we would have seen Kang’s variants causing havoc across time and space, disrupting the Multiverse one incursion at a time,” Perez claimed. “However, now, the main reason revolves around the different heroes who have been interfering with the fabric of space and time. In Doomsday, the main incursion we’ll see at first revolves around Earth-616 and the universe Monica is set in, where the X-Men currently reside in the film.”
Perez then proceeded to add that Doomsday would also address “other incursions,” including the one Tom Holland’s Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Doctor Strange caused in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Avengers: Doomsday premieres in US theaters on December 18, 2026.
