The Umbrella Academy Cast Reads The Umbrella Academy Comics

At the moment, The Umbrella Academy is arguably one of the most loved and watched shows on streaming. A few weeks ago, Netflix released the sophomore season of the series, featuring the new adventures of the Hargreeves family. Without revealing too much for the fans who have not watched it yet, the story takes place in Dallas in 1963. Yes, it also involves a famous US president and some platinum blonde killers from Sweden.

Now, the streaming service has released a video featuring part of The Umbrella Academy cast reading the comics by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. The footage shows actors Justin Min, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Aidan Gallagher. In the show, they are portraying Ben, Allison, and Number Five, respectively, but in the video, they mostly lend their voices to different characters (save for Gallagher who reads the lines of The Boy, aka Number Five).

You can watch the full video in the player below. Be careful about spoilers if you haven’t watched Season 2 yet.

The video also features some of the differences between the comics and the fan-favorite series. In the comics, the members of the team prefer to be called by their alias names and not by their real ones like in the show. For example, Luther goes by Spaceboy, Allison is The Rumor, Diego presents himself as The Kraken, and so on.

The Umbrella Academy Season 2 is available on Netflix.
