Paul Scheer to Voice Lt. Commander Andy Billups in Star Trek: Lower Decks

It seems that everything is almost ready for the August debut of Star Trek: Lower Decks. Deadline brings word that actor Paul Scheer has joined the voice cast as Lt. Commander Andy Billups, who is the chief engineer on the USS Cerritos. Billups will be a recurring guest on the 10-episode first season of the show, which covers during the same period of The Next Generation. The new story by Rick and Morty’s Mike McMahan will focus on a ragtag band of support crew members serving on one of Starfleet’s least famous space-faring vessels.

An extended clip from the upcoming animated series will debut during this year’s Trek-verse panel at San Diego ComicCon@Home. The Star Trek panel will start at 10 AM PT on July 23, and it will also feature exciting news about the next season of Picard, a virtual table read of Star Trek: Discovery’s Season 2 finale, and much more.
