Marvel Debuts a New Poster For Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Final Season

Hot on the heels of this morning’s trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s impending swan song, ABC and Marvel have released yet another tease for the upcoming season. ABC has dropped a spiffy new poster that captures the team members in all of their nostalgic glory. You can check it out for yourself via Twitter below.

The poster, reminiscent of famed artist Drew Struzan’s work, once again hypes the agents’ “final mission.” The team must ensure S.H.I.E.L.D.’s survival by traveling through time to various points in its history and preventing any interference from the Chronicoms, who seek to make Earth their new home. Their mission will also once again bring the team into contact with HYDRA. But as today’s 15-second spot made clear, they’ll be lending the organization their protection this time around.

Additionally, the poster gives us a new glimpse at how the characters will look this year. Elizabeth Henstridge’s Jemma Simmons actually seems to resemble Peggy Carter. However, even more noteworthy is the appearance of Jeff Ward’s Deke Shaw. In previous still images, Deke was blending into his 1930s surroundings with an era-appropriate three-piece suit. But his headband-and-neckerchief combo in the poster suggests that the team might be visiting the ‘80s as well.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s final season will premiere on Wednesday, May 27 on ABC.
