Watchmen Season 1 Episode 9 – What Did You Think?!

The first, and possibly only, season of HBO’s Watchmen has come to an end, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it! After nine episodes, the Seventh Kalvary’s endgame was the same as Lady Trieu’s. However, neither Joe Keene Jr. nor Lady Trieu were successful in stealing Doctor Manhattan’s powers. Instead, he made sure his abilities went to a more worthy successor. Regardless, there is a touch of ambiguity about whether the new supreme being can walk on water…

Watchmen was very much the story of Angela Abar, and if the series continues, it certainly left her in an interesting place. Angela was the granddaughter of the very first superhero, and she was married to a living god for over a decade. But now, Angela may be the most important person on Earth…if she’s still technically human. These nine episodes have essentially functioned as Angela’s origin story. We know why she became Sister Night, but we don’t know what she’s going to do next.

It’s doubtful that Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons ever envisioned a sequel based on their Watchmen comic. However, the season finale reunited three of the surviving comic characters and gave them additional closure. This was the end of Doctor Manhattan’s story, and possibly the beginning of a new chapter. As for Laurie Blake, she got to make a new decision about Adrian Veidt. Keeping Ozymandias’ secrets didn’t make the world a better place. Now, 3 million murdered New Yorkers may finally get justice.
