Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man’s Spider Sense Gets a New Name in Far From Home Clip

Warning: There are minor spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Far From Home!

Spider-Man‘s spider sense power is one of his defining abilities in the comics, but it’s only rarely been glimpsed in the MCU. That’s going to change next month when Spider-Man: Far From Home directly addresses Peter Parker’s danger-detecting skill. However, the newest clip from the movie reveals that Peter’s Aunt May has already given his spider sense a new name. And it’s a name that Peter doesn’t particularly like.

“Peter tingle” definitely isn’t as catchy as spider sense. And as the clip above illustrates, that power is next to useless when Peter’s life isn’t actually being threatened. Bananas can’t seriously injure Peter, so his ability isn’t triggered. But when bullets are flying, this is the ability that allows Spidey to instantly react.

Spider-Man’s MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War may have subtly hinted at this power. It was more overt in Avengers: Endgame, when Peter sensed the arrival of Thanos’ forces in New York. Presumably Far From Home will delve into the way Peter’s power works and prove integral to the plot. However, it’s unclear if spider sense will actually be called by its original name in the film.
