Kick-Ass 2 is Moving Forward at Universal

Lionsgate distributed the first film, which was directed, produced and self-financed by Vaughn. He is producing the sequel and has picked Never Back Down helmer Jeff Wadlow to direct the sequel.

The site adds that Vaughn wrote the script for the follow-up, which adapts not only “Kick-Ass 2,” but also the “Hit-Girl” spin-off that hits stores next month. The Hit-Girl storyline will be the first act of the movie.

A September start is being eyed for the film, which would have Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse reprise their roles.
