Fall 2 Reviews: Critics Agree on One Thing About the High-Stakes Sequel

Fall 2: Deadpoint early reviews are out. They have revealed the one thing critics believe works in the movie’s favor. The sequel, helmed by The Spierig Brothers, comes four years after the hit installment, directed by Scott Mann.

Fall 2 brings back Grace Caroline Currey as Becky Connor from the original. The second entry also features other notable names, including Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas, and Tom Brittney.

Like its predecessor, the sequel also focuses on the dangers of heights, but the story has shifted to a new location, Thailand’s Mount Kwan. According to the official synopsis, “two climbers become trapped thousands of feet above the ground, where vertigo-inducing heights, sheer exposure, and impossible odds turn every moment into a fight for survival.”

Critics weigh in on Fall 2: Deadpoint and its dangerous new survival challenge

While Fall 2 has left critics divided on Rotten Tomatoes, most agree the adventure movie packs a punch with its nerve-racking heights, high stakes, and suspense to deliver plenty of thrills.

Variety‘s Todd Gilchrist wrote that Fall 2: Deadpoint “successfully replicates the vertiginous tension of the first film without feeling like a carbon copy.”

Echoing similar sentiments, The Guardian‘s Benjamin Lee highlighted that the movie features various edge-of-the-seat, scary moments. And the formula from the first part works “just the way it should in the film’s most superbly nauseating sequences.”

Slashfilm‘s Bill Bria pointed out that the sequel stands on its own with “wilder stakes, double the twists, and an eye toward making the series into a sort of soap opera with extreme heights.”

Awards Radar‘s Jonathan Sim wrote, “If you have a fear of heights, you may want to look away. Then again, that’s probably exactly why you’re watching.”

Lionsgate’s Fall 2: Deadpoint is now playing in theaters. While the second part has just been released, a third entry has already been confirmed. It’s expected to bring back characters from the first two movies.
