Margot Robbie is no stranger to the world of superhero or comic book movies, and despite not nailing down the role of Emma Frost, could still be coming to the MCU.
According to a recent report from insider MyTimeToShine, Robbie is “in serious talks” to join the MCU. The insider didn’t mention what role Robbie might have in the MCU, but fans had long been hoping to see her get the role of Emma Frost in the X-Men. However, Samara Weaving has since been cast in that role, leaving many to wonder exactly what Robbie’s role could be.
Who could Margot Robbie be playing in the MCU if she’s not Emma Frost?
With Frost now unavailable as a role, many have begun theorizing who Robbie could be. The top choice at the moment, as many have hoped to see, could be Robbie stepping into the role of Mystique. Since no official casting in the X-Men movie for the role has been announced, it could be a good fit.
Not only would it allow Robbie to still appear as herself in the movie (something Marvel Studios would obviously want), but would also give her a big role in a franchise that will likely be extremely big. Of course, Robbie could also end up being courted for an even bigger role. The Oscar-nominated actress is a huge name in Hollywood, so if she ever joins the MCU, it would likely have to be for a huge role.
Prior to the rumors of her joining the MCU, Robbie played the role of Harley Quinn in both Suicide Squad movies. It had been theorized she might appear in the ongoing DCU, but it seems unlikely that she will as of now.
