The multiverse may be bringing even more wall-crawlers into the MCU, as new rumors suggest Avengers: Secret Wars will feature a live-action version of Spider-Island. Given that the film is taking inspiration from the 2015 storyline, it won’t be a surprise if fans get to see several versions of the same character interact with each other.
Rumors and scoopers online have suggested that Secret Wars is going to feature Spider Island, a prominent domain featured on Battleworld in Marvel Comics. Scoopers online have suggested that the movie will use this opportunity to bring several characters from the Spider-Verse into live action.
While audiences previously saw Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland team up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, neither Maguire nor Garfield has been officially confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. However, persistent rumors claim Doomsday could open with the catastrophic destruction of Maguire’s universe during an incursion involving the X-Men.

Official details regarding Avengers: Secret Wars remain closely guarded. Marvel Studios is currently prioritizing the promotional rollout for Avengers: Doomsday, which hits theaters first. Avengers: Secret Wars is slated for release on December 17, 2027, arriving exactly one year after Doomsday.
Anthony and Joe Russo are directing both ensemble films. The duo previously directed some of the MCU’s highest-grossing projects, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Marvel has not officially confirmed the full ensemble for Secret Wars. Filming is scheduled to ramp up heading into late 2026. Fans speculate that key heroes absent from early Doomsday footage, such as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, will serve as leads in Secret Wars.
It is also possible that the MCU’s newest faces, namely Ghost Rider, X-Men, and the new Black Panther, could make an appearance in the film, but that remains unconfirmed as well.
