Spider-Man vs. Superman: Tom Holland Has Shocking Pick for Who’d Win in a Fight

Tom Holland picked a surprising super hero to team up with during a Spider-Man vs. Superman fight. In a recent interview, the actor was asked if the web-slinger could defeat the Man of Steel. He immediately acknowledged that Spider-Man would be against all odds and responded with a direct, “No.”

However, the star devised a strong plan to defeat the Man of Steel, which includes Kryptonite and teaming up with The Dark Knight. “Maybe if he had some of that Kryptonite stuff? He’s a scientist,” said Holland.

When asked about having another superhero beside him, he said clearly, “If Spider-Man and Batman teamed up—me and Rob [Robert Pattinson] vs. David [Corenswet]… I think we could beat him. I don’t know how helpful Rob would be,” quickly adding, Love Rob to death.”

The host suggested calling in Deadpool or Iron Man, which Holland agreed would be “super helpful.” However, his co-star, Jacob Batalon, stated that Superman is made of “steel and everything. He’s kind of hard to beat without Kryptonite.”

Why Batman gives Spider-Man a fighting chance against Superman

Although Holland recognized Spider-Man’s physical limitations against Superman, teaming up with Batman was the closest way to defeat the Kryptonian, as the Dark Knight had done it before.

His devised plan was inspired by Batman’s tactics used in the iconic Batman vs. Superman movie. In Dawn of Justice, the billionaire emerges as the victor after weakening his rival by capturing him in a kryptonite gas trap.

Zendaya, who was also present, implied that Tony Stark could also find Superman’s vulnerability since he is often compared to Batman in the DC universe. Batalon added that Iron Man could probably make it himself. However, this theory was put to rest when Holland said, “He’s… dead.”

After a long discussion among the three, including the multiverse and Gotham, Holland concluded, “I still think Superman clinches it, though. I think he wins.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters nationwide on July 31, 2026.
