Marvel fans may have to wait longer for Werewolf by Night‘s return. Michael Giacchino has shared an update regarding the project. The director announced that it’s still under discussion and will require more time to come to fruition.
The filmmaker shared the news at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day red-carpet event. He stated that he doesn’t have an estimated release date but hopes that another chapter will be realized soon.
Giacchino explained that the main reason for the delay was the slow process. In a video shared by ScreenRant, he said, “We’re talking about it. Everything takes forever to do. There’s a lot of planning that has to happen. Everything has to fit into a particular place at a particular time. So, you know, nothing moves as fast as we’d like it to. But, you know, I hope that one day you’ll be sitting there watching another Werewolf by Night. That’s my hope.”
His comments follow an earlier update in November, when he said that the sequel could become his next directing project.

Teen Wolf was a supernatural drama that balanced teenage life and supernatural conflict. Bitten is the television adaptation of Kelley Armstrong’s novel series, which follows the life of the only female werewolf who has to live two lives, one human and one wolf. Hemlock Grove on Netflix is a drama that mixes horror with family secrets, while The Order is about a college student caught in the middle of a war between werewolves and witches.
Released in 2022 as Marvel Studios’ first Special Presentation, Werewolf by Night starred Gael García Bernal as Jack Russell and was praised for its gothic black-and-white look and feel.
