Transformers One Sequel Status Revealed by Director

The status of a potential Transformers One sequel has been updated by the film’s director, but it’s not something fans will want to hear.

What is the latest information about a Transformers One sequel?

Speaking to fans during a Q&A session at Bot Con 2025, a convention held for Transformers fans, Josh Cooley was asked about the status of a second film. Unfortunately for fans looking for a positive update, Cooley confirmed that there were currently no plans on Paramount’s end for making a sequel.

Originally released in 2024, Transformers One starred Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. The animated film served as an origin story for Optimus Prime and Megatron and followed their time together on Cybertron.

Despite the film receiving critical praise from critics and audiences alike, Transformers One failed to perform well at the box office. The film grossed $129.4 million internationally, and with a budget of somewhere between $75-147 million, many considered it to be an underperformer.
