Billy Batson Joins the Justice League in LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters

Thanks to COVID-19, it could be a while before Shazam and Black Adam duke it out on the big screen. But in the meantime, fans can check out a new animated feature headlined by their LEGO counterparts. Warner Bros. has just dropped a new trailer for LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters, which hits digital next month.

Billy Batson’s adult alter-ego is the star of the film, but he’s not the only hero getting screen time. Most of the core members of the Justice League, including Jessica Cruz’s Green Lantern, also show up. Unfortunately, it looks like they’ve never heard of Shazam. This motivates Billy to prove his worth to the legendary team, which he’ll have no choice but to do when the Monster Society of Evil captures the League and turns them into children (a change not adequately reflected by the voice acting or the size of the LEGO figures). Among other villains, Shazam and his allies will square off against Mister Mind, Dr. Sivana, and of course, Black Adam.

WB has also assembled an impressive cast for the new movie. Sean Astin leads the ensemble as the voice of Shazam. He’s joined by Troy Baker as Batman, Nolan North as Superman and Alfred, Grey Griffin as Wonder Woman and Lois Lane, Christina Milizia as Green Lantern, James Arnold Taylor as The Flash and Dummy, and Imari Williams as Black Adam. Fred Tatasciore, Ralph Garman, Tom Kenny, and Josh Keaton will also fill supporting roles.

LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters arrives on digital April 28 and Blu-ray on June 16. You can check out the box art and check out the trailer for the film below.
