Captain Marvel Producer Explains How Disney+ Series Tie In With MCU

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Avengers: Endgame!

Although Marvel Studios has yet to reveal its hand about what’s coming with its Phase 4 films, it’s got a lot planned with Disney+. Down the road, fans will see shows based on Loki,  Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye,Wanda and Vision on the streaming service. While speaking with ComicBook, Captain Marvel producer Mary Livanos had a lot to say about how these shows will have an affect on the MCU.

“They will directly affect the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some very real ways,” said Livanos. “That’s what makes the opportunity to segue into the streaming space so attractive to us at Marvel Studios. You can really tell, like a full comic book event, like a multi-issue story from the point of storytelling.”

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, a few of these potential storylines have already fallen into place. For example, Loki escaped with the Tesseract in the alternate timeline. His series could easily follows where he goes next.

Next up is the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. During Endgame’s conclusion, Sam Wilson accepted the mantle of Captain America from a much older Steve Rogers. This could set the stage for him getting the hang of his new role, with Bucky Barnes on hand to assist. There’s also a good chance that Zemo and Sharon Carter could return as well.

As for the oddly titled WandaVision, it’s too soon to tell. But we suspect that Scarlet Witch will attempt to resurrect her lost love, Vision, who died at the hands of Thanos.

Finally, there’s the Hawkeye series, with Clint Barton possibly handing his bow to a potential successor. This is the one of the few unconfirmed Marvel series at Disney+, so it’s unclear if or when the show will go forward.
