Marvel Comics Is Coming To SXSW 2019

This year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) is getting some major superhero action from Marvel Comics. Via the SXSW official site, Marvel will host a panel called Marvel: From Comics to Screen.

Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski and Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada will discuss how characters make a transition from the classic comics to film, television and other forms of media.

Per the official panel description, the duo will “lead an interactive discussion of the unprecedented vast creative landscape and content factory that is Marvel Comics. Marvel’s characters have achieved international renown, and now the movies, television series, and games of the Marvel Universe are the most popular in the world – but everything starts with an idea, and Marvel Comics is the spark that lights the fire. Are these the next breakout stories of film, television, and gamin happening in the pages of Marvel Comics right now? Hear from two of the Marvel Comics’ biggest story-crafters on what it’s like to lead the way in the Marvel Universe!”

Cebulski and Quesada are probably to discuss Captain Marvel, since it hits theaters on the same day as the panel.

Considering the popularity of the SXSW event and Marvel this panel is likely to reach capacity very quickly. It will take place at 3:30pm on Friday, March 8 in Room 12AB in the Austin Convention Center.
