Who is Spider-Man 4’s Rachel Cole-Alves?

Following a Spider-Man 4 set video leaking online, it is speculated that Sadie Sink could be playing Punisher’s protégé, Rachel Cole-Alves.

First appeared in The Punisher Vol. 9, #1, in August 2011, Rachel is introduced as a Marine Sergeant. After returning from Afghanistan, she marries trauma surgeon Daniel Alves in New York City. During their wedding reception, the venue is attacked by the members of the criminal syndicate, the Exchange. This results in everyone’s death, except Rachel.

During her recovery, Rachel takes her maiden name and works towards getting revenge on the Exchange. Later, she befriends The Daily Bugle journalist Norah Winters, from whom she learns about the criminal syndicate.

After learning about their whereabouts, Rachel infiltrates and kills several Exchange leaders. By the end of it, she comes face-to-face with Frank Castle, AKA the Punisher, who is also working towards bringing the Exchange down. Following a brief altercation, the two go their separate ways.

Later, the Punisher and Rachel Cole-Alves reunite to secure the Omega Drive. It is a device holding crucial information about various criminal organizations. Moreover, they briefly team up with Daredevil and Spider-Man before Rachel steals the drive from them, knowing the two superheroes won’t kill anyone.

Rachel later helps the Punisher steal adamantium from an auction to infiltrate the Exchange’s headquarters. During a confrontation, she kills the Exchange leader Stephanie Gerard, and in the chaos, she accidentally shoots a detective.

Overcome with guilt, Rachel confesses to Norah and attempts suicide by cop, but is saved by the Punisher. She is then arrested and sentenced to death. However, the Punisher rescues Rachel, and she relocates to a different city.
