In a conversation at HBO Max, James Gunn addressed what’s next for Peacemaker and whether the characters will return in any potential outing. He said, ” Peacemaker will be back as this TV show. We’ll see exactly what form. We have plans. But you’ll see all these characters in the future of the DCU in not too long. Peace out. Peace out.”
Previously, in another interview with Deadline, Gunn revealed that Christopher Smith and the 11th Street Kids story isn’t concluded yet. They’ll reappear, but not in a way the fans expect them to. He added, “You’re gonna find out more in episode 8 because it’s not necessarily that. Some of these characters will continue, but also, it’s not exactly Peacemaker 3. I’m not ruling it out. You’ll see (episode) 8 and maybe you’ll find out a little bit more.” While the latest comments leave the door open for these beloved characters’ return, there’s still no announcement on a season renewal.
