Alien: Earth Twist Reveals What Atom Eins Really Is

Alien: Earth‘s inaugural season concluded with some big twists, one of which was the truth behind Atom Eins and his connection to Boy Kavalier. The ending also sees Wendy face a major development in her character arc.

Helmed by Noah Hawley, this sci-fi thriller series is the first television series in the Alien franchise. The story follows Wendy, a hybrid — a human who had their consciousness transferred onto a synthetic body — and a group of tactical soldiers, who encounter a deadly threat to Earth.

So, what is the truth behind Atom Eins in Alien: Earth? How does Wendy control Atom? Here’s what you need to know.

Alien: Earth’s Atom twist and Wendy’s control explained

In the Alien: Earth Season 1 finale, Atom Eins lays out a trap for Joe Hermit. The former lures the latter into a room housing the T. Ocellus, intending for it to attack him. Fortunately for Hermit, Wendy comes to his rescue and prevents the eyeball monster from killing him.

Eins catches wind of Wendy’s actions and returns to the room to kill both her and Hermit. However, Wendy uses her hybrid powers — granting her control over technology — to stop him. In this moment, it’s revealed that Eins is a synthetic connected to the network that made him susceptible to Wendy’s control.

At the end of the episode, Wendy seizes control of Neverland Island from Boy Kavalier. Motivated by the need to balance the power scale between Prodigy and its most advanced creations, she leads a revolt against her creators. She also begins showing signs of corruption by her own power, something Hermit notices. Moreover, her appearance alters after her power-trip, unlike that of other hybrids, Slightly and Smee, who retain their human youthfulness.

Is Atom Eins Boy Kavalier’s dad in Alien: Earth?

Atom Eins is not Boy Kavalier’s biological father. However, he is suggested to be the synthetic “daddy” that the latter said he created.

In Episode 8, Kavalier’s backstory was explored. His biological father was a drunkard, jealous of his son’s intelligence to the point of wanting to kill him. Kavalier created “a grown man” and “distinguished” synthetic when he was six. This synthetic killed his father and became Kavalier’s “daddy,” helping him create his own empire.

Eins being Kavalier’s synthetic “daddy” is implied when the latter turns towards the former, asking him if he would let Wendy insult him. This is after Wendy insults Kavalier by calling him “a mean, angry little man.”
