Eagly’s Prime Eagle Status & Meaning in DC’s Peacemaker Explained

Peacemaker Season 2’s latest episode revealed whether Eagly was the Prime Eagle, as Red St. Wild had suspected in the previous episode. So far, Season 2 has felt like a completely different show compared to its previous season, as it includes characters with supernatural powers. So, is Eagly just an intelligent and violent bird, or does it have any supernatural powers? Here’s what happened in the episode.

Is Eagly the Prime Eagle in DC’s Peacemaker Season 2?

Yes, Eagly is revealed to be the Prime Eagle in Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 5, “Back to the Suture.”

In Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 4, “Need I Say Door,” Economos saved Eagly by pushing Red St. Wild to the ground, who was about to shoot the bird. Red St. Wild hit his head on a rock that rendered him unconscious. When he woke up and asked Economos what had happened, Economos lied. He said that it was another eagle that had attacked and pushed him.

Listening to this, Wild revealed that the eagles are territorial birds. So, having more than one eagle in the neighborhood meant that Eagly could be the Prime Eagle, as foretold in the Yakama and Meskwaki myths. Meaning that Eagly could be the one who rules over all the eagles. While Economos didn’t believe that to be a thing, he let Wild run with his imagination. By the end of the episode, Wild uses his supernatural powers to track Eagly to the cabin.

In Episode 5, Red St. Wild set a trap for Eagly, trying to lure him with a dead rat. When Eagly got distracted for a moment, a wild fox stole and ran away with it. Eagly followed the fox, but seeing no way out, the fox swallowed it as a whole. It turned out that the rat was poisoned, and as a result, the fox died immediately.

Later in the episode, Wild resorted to using his gun to shoot down Eagly. He found his target and shot it down. When he started rejoicing, another eagle attacked him from behind. When he crawled to pick up his gun, more eagles surrounded him. He looked around and saw Eagly sitting on a boulder in front of him.

Wild realized that he didn’t shoot Eagly, but instead he shot another eagle. As he stared at the bird, Prime Eagle’s sigil appeared behind Eagly, confirming that he is the Prime Eagle. Red St. Wild then started to apologize to him, but Eagly wasn’t having any of it. He screeched at all other eagles to attack him, resulting in Red St. Wild’s death.
