Tron Ares Arcade Container Popcorn Bucket Price & Release Date Explained

A different but still awesome Tron Ares arcade container popcorn bucket has been revealed. While it isn’t as flashy as the premium Lightcycle popcorn bucket, this container features a mock arcade cabinet in red and black with the logo of the movie along the top and on the screen. (It’s also a neat reference to Flynn’s Arcade from the Tron franchise.) Pictures of this bucket have been showcased by both Regal Theatres and Marcus Theatres, so it’s possible that this collectible will be available at other cinemas like AMC and Cinemark. Here’s what we know so far about how much this arcade popcorn bucket will cost and when it might be available for sale.

What is price and release date for the Tron Ares arcade popcorn bucket?

The release date for the Tron Ares arcade cabinet popcorn bucket is estimated to be October 10 at the latest, but it could be available for purchase a few days before that. The price for the container is projected to be somewhere between $35 and $50.

As we noted with the Lightcycle bucket, several theaters are offering early access screenings for Tron: Ares on October 8 (that’s a Wednesday) and some are even showing an IMAX double feature that will screen both Tron: Legacy and Tron: Ares back to back. So we would be surprised if both Regal and Marcus wouldn’t allow fans of the movie to purchase collectibles for the film on the same day that they watch it in theaters.

By the way, we should mention that the Instagram post from Regal Cinemas says that the arcade popcorn bucket is “available exclusively at Regal.” However, the same container has been spotted in an Instagram post from Marcus Theatres, so it seems like this may not be true.

It’s unclear how large this popcorn bucket will be. The social media post from Marcus reveals that the lid of the cabinet pops open so that popcorn can be poured into the body of the container. The picture makes it seem like it will be as tall as the collectible cup, but most popcorn buckets tend to be big enough to fit a medium popcorn.

As for the bucket’s price, it looks to be positioned as a mid-tier option for collectors, which in this case means that it will likely be less than the Lightcycle popcorn bucket (which we believe will be up to $60). Most Regal collectible buckets cost somewhere between $25 and $50, and Disney collectibles tend to be on the more expensive side. That’s why we settled on the $35 to $50 range.
