Chris Pratt To Join DCU Soon: 5 Characters He Could Play

Chris Pratt might be joining the DCU soon. He’s already found a lot of success in superhero movies through playing Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, in numerous MCU movies. After his character leaves his superteam, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and sets down his blasters in Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3, Pratt could be playing a new superhero in the future. Former Guardians of the Galaxy director and now DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has also spoken about him joining the DCU.

His role in this universe is yet to be decided, but here are a few characters that he would be perfect as.

List of characters Chris Pratt could play in DCU

It’s not a secret that James Gunn likes to work with actors with whom he has collaborated before. Since he started working with DC properties, he’s worked with Nathan Fillion, Frank Grillo, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, and many others who were also a part of the MCU. Next, he might be adding Chris Pratt to the ever-expanding ensemble cast of the universe.

In an interview with PelucheEn ElEstuche, Gunn was asked if he might be interested in casting Pratt as Batman. He responded, “As Batman? No. As something else? Yes.”

This sparked curiosity among fans, wondering what roles Pratt could play in the DCU. Here are the top five characters that he might be playing in the DCU.

Booster Gold

Booster Gold is one of the top choices for Pratt, given the character’s personality and history. Since James Gunn has announced that a series for Booster Gold is in the works, there’s a high possibility that Pratt could play this superhero. Booster Gold is a fan-favorite character with a distinct backstory. He is from the future and uses stolen technology and his knowledge of events that occurred before his time to gain fame as a superhero. He also becomes a part of the Justice League.

Aquman

With the end of the DCEU, Jason Momoa’s last performance as Aquaman was in the 2023 movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. If Pratt is cast as the Atlantian, his comedic timing and charismatic personality could continue the character down the same path that audiences had seen with Momoa’s portrayal.

Plastic Man

Plastic Man is naturally comedic, one of the first superheroes with humor in mainstream comic books. The character is super entertaining and is yet to be explored in the form of a movie or show. So, Pratt bringing him to life could provide a great introduction to the character for movie audiences. Rainn Wilson, the actor who played Dwight in The Office, has also voiced his interest in playing the role.

Shazam

While the idea of Pratt taking over the role of Shazam from Zachary Levi’s portrayal in the DCEU has many supporters, James Gunn is not one of them. “No, I don’t think so,” he said in his interview with PelucheEn ElEstuche. Nevertheless, it’s clear from his past performances that Pratt has the right skills to play the childish, goofy, and lighthearted superhero.

John Constantine

John Constantine is an anti-hero who fights demons and ghosts with his dark magic powers. The fan-favorite character has already had both a standalone movie and a TV series so far. But with Pratt, viewers might get a different take on the character that could be folded into the wider DCU.
