In an exclusive interview with ComingSoon, Geraldine Viswanathan talked about her role in the film. She spoke about the highly relatable and likable young character she played in the MCU, which also hinted that there was much more to come from her character in future movies.

After talking about her character, Viswanathan spoke about working with the legendary Julia Louis-Dreyfus. When asked if there were any lessons she took from Louis-Dreyfus, She said, “Yeah, she gives it 110% and really is so sharp in like her precision with her language and words and kind of the details of a scene in a way that I found really inspiring. And yeah, that’s why I think she’s such a master.”

Viswanathan continued, “Like, she doesn’t rest on her laurels or kind of glaze over anything. Like she’s really detail-oriented and just really smart. It was really cool to watch, and I feel like her sort of endless dedication was very like something that I will kind of take on with me for sure.”

So it seems that both Viswanathan and Dreyfus will remain important characters going forward, and the lessons Viswanathan has learned could further strengthen her character, Mel, in the coming movies.

Thunderbolts* wasn’t a commerical success but it did receive praise from critics for its tone, writing, and performances, among other things. The cast features Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, Lewis Pullman, and many others in key roles.

The film makes its streaming debut on August 27, 2025, on Disney+.
