A special screening for Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns will be shown at various AMC theaters in glorious remastered form. The release date and time for this double feature is coming up soon, and we now have more information about when both movies will be airing back-to-back. More importantly, both films have been upgraded and will be playing for the first time in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. This is a great chance of seeing the movies originally released in 1989 and 1992, featuring actors Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Danny DeVito, Jack Nicholson, and Christopher Walken, be fully enhanced on the silver screen.
When does Tim Burton’s Batman & Batman Returns special screening show at AMC?
The special remastering of Batman and Batman Returns will be shown at over 160 AMC theaters as a back-to-back featurette on Monday, August 25. Looking at the available times at most AMC locations, Batman will first be shown at 4:00 PM or 7:00 PM while Batman Returns will air at 9:15 PM or 10:00 PM.
The screenings have been upgraded with Dolby Atmos to provide a multi-dimensional sound experience, while Dolby Atmos promises to make the colors sharper and more vivid than before. In a statement, director Tim Burton said, “I hadn’t watched these films since I made them, and seeing them again with this level of clarity, beauty, color, and sound felt really new and exciting. Dolby Atmos and Vision brought it all to life in a fresh way.”
Movie buffs may know that Batman Returns was the first movie to be presented in Dolby Digital, so this screening has come full circle in a way.
